Fit Challenge:
“I am shaped like an apple – no waist! What are some current styles that I can wear this season?’
Fall Fashion Solution:
Take another look at your body — while you may not have noticed, there is a shapely area just under your bust line – it’s part of the beauty of your curves. Now it’s time to play it up! Make certain that clothing is tapered in at that area, not tight, but skimming. Consider an empire waist – however avoid the gathers often put under the bust line, look for some layering thin fabric that skims that part of the body. Dolman (batwing) sleeves are very popular again and make a wonderful camouflage for those who deal with a bit of a tummy issue. Wrap tops on dresses can also give the illusion of a smaller waist. If you have ¾ sleeves push them up to the elbow so the eye stops just below the bust line rather than at the fully part of your waist. One last tip go for a deeper “V” or scoop neck line, or substitute that with a long “V” or “U” shaped necklace.

“I see so many dresses but they’re all sleeveless or low-cut. I end up wearing blouses and pants to work because dresses are just too revealing.”
Fall Fashion Solution:
Option 1: Your fashion solution this year is the modest dress—there are many beautiful dresses with long sleeves and high necks this season. This understated glamour is perfect for women concerned about their arms or who have sun damage on their décolletage. They are also great for work attire and help keep you warm.
Option 2: Layer under or over the dress. I have been using a long sleeve beige all lace shirt that fits like a snug t-shirt. It gives a feminine edge, and a modest alternative. The other fun addition to my lingerie has been the Ariane Piikabu Mini Cami (available in plain or lace on www.amazon.com) which is a ½ cami that you wear over your bra. It almost looks like a sports bra, but it stays put and eliminates the extra bulk that you get from a full cami.
You can purchase this Arriane Camion Amazon.
Many of you wanted to know more about boots, leggings, and sweaters, here’s another quick challenge and solution on that topic:
Fit Challenge:
I want to wear boots with my sweaters, but am not sure about leggings – how do you do this when you have a prominent derriere?
Fall Fashion Solution:
Sweater lengths vary quite a bit this season. Look for one that easily covers your back quarters and could almost pass for a dress. This type of sweater could be worn with a thicker tight. Another consideration would be to opt for “Jeggings” -=- these are leggings that look like jeans. They are thicker than standard leggings, usually made of denim or corduroy and have jean details like stitched pockets and a zipper (or fake zipper) closing. If you go with the jegging, keep the sweater covering the caboose!
