When it comes to fashion, nothing else gets sacrificed for beauty more than our feet. Foot care is essential – both for today and for our health years from today.
You can put your best foot forward and step out in style.
On the Spot
Cocktail parties, weddings, business presentations
Conventional Style: Heels 2 ½ -5 inches
New Step: In all formal situations, you have shoe options that provide both style and comfort. A one to one-half-inch heel can be as elegant with your clothing, and far more comfortable as a higher heel. Add a gel pad under the ball of your foot to ease the pressure and reduce the friction of your foot slipping forward. A slightly lower heel makes it far more likely you’ll be able to smooze or dance the night away.
If you are planning on wearing a higher heel to a business presentation, wait to wear them until the last possible second. If possible, bring a second pair of shoes along to slip into when your presentation is over. Again, gel pads are essential.
If you’re in the wedding, an extra pair of shoes is a great idea. You’ll be in your heels for the picture-taking and through-out the ceremony – that can mean hours. Switch for the reception and dance if possible.
After a long time in heels, your feet will benefit from a short massage.
1. Wrap each foot in a warm, wet wash cloth.
2. Put a golf ball under each foot; roll them around.
3. Apply lotion.
Your feet deserve a little attention.
