High Fashion/Low Price. The current trend of top name designers creating lines for markets like Target, TJMaxx, and Wal-Mart means that for less money, you can have cute things to wear during years when your kids are young and throwing up or you’re still losing some of your pregnancy weight. These new lines allow you look great without investing your kid’s college fun to do it.
Old-Fashioned Transition for Modern Moms. I often hear young moms say they want clothing that will take them through their whole day – from the breakfast rush to welcoming her husband home from work as not only the mother of his children, but his woman.
A more reasonable approach might be: while your kids are picking up their toys before dad gets home, take this time to freshen yourself up. Putting on a fresh blouse or shirt with a pair of earrings, and a little lip gloss will go a long way to reminding him of your femininity and you of your self-worth..
Clothes Protection. Aprons are back in style, and there are many cute ones to choose from. For catching cooking spills, invest in a couple of “chef’s aprons.” These are made of more durable material and withstand stain removes in the wash. If you like to wear a little extra protection while gardening, doing crafts with your kids, or cleaning house, wear a pretty, light-weight print. (they’ll also hide spit-ups, accidental nose wipes, or sticky finger marks) An all over print in a paisley or a floral and it’s harder to track the baby action.
Fashions that Fit Your Mood. What one piece of clothing in your closet that transforms your mood and your look the moment you put it on? It might be a leather jacket, a trench coat in a bright color, a super cute pair of wedged sandals. Think of this item as a personality piece, not a basic. When you wear it, you can face principals, parent-teacher conferences, or the mom of the child bullying yours. No, you won’t be able to leap tall buildings, but you’ll feel confident and that’s what super-hero moms need more than anything.
A Time-Out For You. Kids who grew up are admitting that their “time-outs” were often the break they needed. Why not take a time out for a positive reason? You! Invest in your mom style and your peace of mind. Call me and I can help you find clothes that are good pieces for your lifestyle. When you take care of yourself, be prepared to hear these sweet words from your young ones: “Mommy, you look great!”
You can be stylish – simply.
